Blooming Hound started the way all the best trails do: with curiosity, instinct and a hound leading the way.
I am the Hounder, always following the scent of possibility. And beside me is the Hound, my companion, my muse, and the reason I slow down, look closer and notice the beauty hidden in everyday walks. Together, we wander the wild corners of Yorkshire: beaches, bridleways, moors, forests, lakes, hedgerows, and every unpredictable path in between.
Blooming Hound grew from these moments. I wanted dog accessories that felt as characterful as the dogs who wear them, made thoughtfully, intentionally, and never through faceless white-label mass production.

Blooming Hound prints do not begin with trends or stock graphics. They begin with a legacy.
In the 1990s, my mum, Jayne, ran her own studio designing and selling hand-painted wallpaper. Each design was created by hand, each motif shaped through instinct, patience and a deep love for nature. That dedication to craftsmanship is the heart of Blooming Hound.
As our in-house artist, Jayne brings those original techniques into every collection. Each design begins the way it always has for her: with loose sketches, exploratory drawings and painted motifs inspired by Yorkshire in all its variety.
We draw from everything this county offers. Not only the iconic moors and woodlands, but the full breadth of wild, elemental places that make Yorkshire feel alive. Sweeping beaches, wind-carved cliffs, quiet coves, rolling fields, mirror-still lakes, tangled hedgerows, valley trails and high rugged peaks. A landscape filled with contrast and character, perfect for storytelling through print.
Once the sketches evolve into fuller concepts, Jayne turns to tactile processes to bring them to life. She block prints and screen prints her designs onto fabric, testing scale, movement and repeat by hand, just as she once tested wallpaper patterns in her studio.
Only when a design has proven itself through these slow crafts do we move into the digital stage.
We digitise every final design in-house, preserving the texture and soul of the original artwork before preparing it for production at a specialist UK print studio.
It is a heritage craft process that has evolved gently, refined over time and rooted in the landscapes that inspired it.

Blooming Hound’s mix-and-match concept began with personality, specifically the huge, hilarious, stubborn, affectionate personality of my Basset.
Anyone who has lived with a Basset Hound knows they are wonderfully contradictory creatures. Slow-moving yet purposeful. Sensitive yet dramatic. Gentle with a surprising amount of flair. Full of quirks, humour and unforgettable charm.
And it became clear that no single print or palette could ever express all of her, and certainly not the full spectrum of dogs we meet on our walks.
So Blooming Hound was designed with individuality at its core.
Our modular, mixable approach lets you create combinations that feel true to your dog. A harness panel in one print, a collar in another, and a lead in something completely different, all crafted to work together with intentional harmony.
Because some dogs are bold.
Some are soft and soulful.
Some are joyful, chaotic mosaics of everything in between.
We do not believe in dressing every dog the same.
We believe in celebrating their character, letting their personality lead while you simply follow the trail.
Where we are heading.
Blooming Hound is still at the beginning of its trail, and that is exactly what makes this journey exciting.
Our first strap-only harness marks the starting point, a foundation built on comfort, quality materials, durability and design. But it is only the opening chapter of what we are creating.
Behind the scenes, we are developing something truly special. A new harness concept that has been months in the making and will continue to evolve with care, testing and attention. It is unlike anything we have made before, and we expect it to arrive in Spring 2026.
We are growing slowly and intentionally, one collection at a time. Guided by hounds, by creativity, and by the belief that thoughtful design is worth the wait.
This is just the beginning.
